We became a little famous in 1991
On 1 Feb 1991, we were featured in NTUC News for our contribution towards defining the Singapore Dress.

By 1993, we were established as the orchid dress specialist in Singapore
Due to our success with orchid motif range of garments, we received numerous invitations to sponsor fashion shows and beauty pageants since 1991.

Late 90s, crowned as cheongsam queen of Singapore by the press
Apart from Orchid motifs, Elisa found her new passion in Cheongsam making. "Cheongsams are very elegant," explained Mrs Chew. "You can wear them to any function. So when I started putting pretty orchids on cheongsams, many people soon got to know me."

In Memory of Late Mrs Ong Teng Cheong of Singapore
On 30 July 1999, then First Lady of Singapore, Mrs Ong Teng Cheong passed away due to colon cancer. She was an ardent supporter of charity work throughout her life. As her close friend and one of personal tailors, Mrs Elisa Chew sold the idea of auctioning Mrs Ong's Cheongsam for charity to then President Mr Ong Teng Cheong. He agreed readily. The auction took place on 1 Dec 1999 and raised $50,000 for 16 Cheongsam outfits. The rest is history.

40 years on, we still chase after the dream of defining the Singapore dress
Yves Saint Laurent famously said "Fashion fades, Style is eternal." For 40 years, Elisa is pursuing one dream of crafting the Singapore dress through simple and elegant style in the ever-changing of world of fashion. Have we succeeded? Perhaps the journey will never end.
