About Us

Elisa is the quintessential name representing Singaporean elegance in cheongsam design and oriental fashion. It's eponymous to our founder and chief designer Mrs Elisa Chew.
After graduating from Ray Vogue School of Design in Chicago, Mrs Chew returned to Singapore and won the local uniform design competition for the Max Factor cosmetics company in 1973. Two years later, she set up her first boutique selling women's fashion in Laguna Park along Marine Parade Road. Soon, she found her passion in Cheongsam making.
End of 1980s, then-Deputy Prime Minister and NTUC Secretary-General Ong Teng Cheong started the search for a national dress to unite Singaporeans further. Mrs Chew won the people's hearts by blending beautiful orchid motifs into her designs. Her orchid dresses and shirts have been seen on many VIPs on various occasions, representing Singapore to the local community and to the world.
Four decades on, Mrs Chew is perhaps the only designer who still pursues the dream of defining a national dress that represents Singapore domestically and globally.
As a designer, she believes in simple and elegant style that is elevated via intricate details and quality garment making. As a business woman, she believes in serving all her customers equally and to engage them via impeccable service.
